Hello! When I'm trying to turn my laptop on, there is a sound of the drive trying to boot, the power button turns on, caps lock starts flashing. Then, nothing happens, both screen and laptop are dead. It's 5 long flashes and 3 short in white color. I tried disconnecting the power supply and pressing the power button for 30 seconds. It didn't work. Also, the battery is not removable.
Can you help me with this?

It actually helped, even if it is a hardware problem it does not necessirely mean that the components need replacement. Turned out there was a strawberry juice leakage in my bag (not proud of that) and the laptop was all sticky inside. Cleaning it for a couple of hours with acetone actually helped. I was really not expecting it to work, guess this can be encouraging for people with a similar problem

Hi
You get a LONG (MAJOR) signal category, RED LED &
then a SHORT (MINOR) signal category, WHITE LED.
Major – the category of the error; Minor – specific error in that category
The AUDIBLE repeats 5 times, and the VISUAL until power is removed.
5.3 | The embedded controller times out waiting for the BIOS. Component is not reachable by BIOS in certain time limit. | 1 Reseat component. 2 Test known good component. 3 Replace component or Main-Board as needed. |
Perhaps try an F2 diagnostic if possible.
If in doubt please ask.

Thank you! There is no red light on my laptop, but I believe it still falls in the 5.3. Is it possible that there exist instructions on how to open this type of laptop? (appearing in the tag). I am also attaching a photo. Basically it's 3 screws, but I am not sure how to open it after unscrewing them.

This is a hardware failure and @Lil_Boy_Blue is correct in telling you to run diagnostics to see if they can figure out the problem.
This is not something you are going to be able to fix by removing the cover.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
