Hi @Abdul131,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing that. I know how frustrating it can be when your HP laptop doesn’t boot after a storage upgrade. Let’s walk through the most likely causes and how to fix them.

1. Check BIOS for Drive Detection

  • Turn on the laptop and press Esc, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Go to Storage or System Information.
  • Make sure the new drive is listed. If not:
    • Power off, open the laptop, and re-seat the drive.
    • Ensure connectors are clean and properly aligned.

2. Check Boot Order

  • In BIOS, go to Boot Options.
  • Make sure the new drive is set as the first boot device.
  • If you're using a USB to install Windows, set the USB as the first boot device temporarily.

3. Install Windows on New Drive

If the drive is blank:

4. Disable Secure Boot (if needed)

  • In BIOS, go to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
  • Disable Secure Boot if the installer doesn’t load.
  • Enable Legacy Boot if your drive uses MBR instead of GPT.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
