Hi @Kunal50,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A blinking Caps Lock light on your HP laptop (15s model) typically indicates a hardware issue, and the pattern of blinks can help diagnose the problem. Here are some common steps to troubleshoot this issue.
Identify the Blink Code Pattern
- Count the number of times the Caps Lock light blinks before pausing. This code provides insight into the issue:
- 1 Blink: CPU failure
- 2 Blinks: BIOS corruption failure
- 3 Blinks: Memory failure
- 4 Blinks: Graphics failure
- 5 Blinks: System board failure
- 6+ Blinks: Additional hardware issues
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the laptop from any power source.
- Remove the battery if it's removable.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual charge.
- Reconnect the battery and charger, then try powering on the laptop.
Check the RAM
- If the blink code indicates memory issues (3 blinks), try reseating or replacing the RAM.
- Power off the laptop, remove the back cover, and carefully remove and reinstall the RAM modules.
BIOS Recovery
- If the blink code suggests a BIOS corruption (2 blinks), try recovering the BIOS:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys.
- While holding the keys, press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding the Windows + B keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
Test with External Display
- If you're getting 4 blinks (graphics failure), try connecting the laptop to an external monitor to check if the internal display is the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
