HP Notebook - 15-ay018nr (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My laptop is not booting and is displaying a "Boot Device Not Found. Hard Disk (3F0)" error. I tried most of the options by changing BIOS settings (Legacy Support to Enabled), but no luck.

Please suggest what else can I check before concluding the SSD is corrupted. A quick reply is appreciated. Thanks

In case of the SSD failure, how could I get the Windows license onto a new SSD?

Hi @SivaAkkina,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have trouble with your HP Notebook - 15-ay018nr (ENERGY STAR), displaying a "Boot Device Not Found. Hard Disk (3F0)" error, SOrry to hear about the issue, this looks like it could be a hardware issue with the windows, to help you better, I would request you to please run a Hardware test on the pc and let me know the results.

Extensive Test:

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4. Click Extensive Test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
