Hi @Paakwesi7,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 isn’t turning on and the charging indicator light doesn’t come on, there could be a few possible causes. Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps to identify the issue:
1. Check the Power Source and Charger
- Ensure the outlet you’re using is functional by plugging in another device.
- Check if the charger cable and adapter are securely connected.
- Inspect the charger and cable for any visible damage. If you have access to another compatible HP charger, try using it to see if the charging indicator light turns on.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to discharge any residual power in the system.
- Connect the charger again and try to turn on the laptop.
3. Test with Battery Removal (If Applicable)
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.
- With the battery removed, connect the charger and try to power on the laptop. If it powers on, the issue may be with the battery.
4. Inspect the Charging Port
- Check if there’s any debris or dust in the charging port. You can use a soft brush or a can of compressed air to gently clean it.
- Also, inspect the port for any bent or broken pins.
5. Try a Different Power Adapter
- If you have access to a compatible HP charger or can borrow one, try it to rule out a faulty adapter.
6. Check for LED Indicators or Beep Codes
- If the laptop briefly shows any light or produces beeps, note the pattern. HP laptops often use these to indicate specific hardware issues.
