Hello @Madkins74
Welcome to the HP Support forum.
* Do you mean Windows does not accept your login credentials and is this Microsoft online/connected account (MCA) ? Do you use an email address as a login username ?
* If the PC is still stuck on "Please, wait..." screen, remove any power sources/cords, then press and hold the power-on button for 5-6 seconds. The PC should power off. Wait a second and press the power-on button once to start the PC back. Are you able to start the PC normally now and see the login screen ?
* Please, refer to this TKB article for general information >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/I-forgot-my-password-Can-HP-help-me-reset-it/...
* If you are sure the credentials are OK but just not accepted, you may try using the System Restore function in attempt to "turn back time". Check the steps here >> https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c03327545#AbT5
System Restore is a software program available in all modern versions of Windows. System Restore automatically creates restore points, a memory of the system files and settings on the computer at a particular point in time. You can also create a restore point yourself. Then, when you use System Restore to restore your computer to a point in time before an issue began, System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected.
