Hi @Tennessee1983,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop isn't powering on and the power light indicator blinks three times, it typically indicates a hardware issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to turn it on again.
2. Check the Power Adapter:
- Ensure the power adapter is working properly. Check for any damage to the cord or the connector.
- If possible, test with a different compatible power adapter.
3. Inspect the Charging Port:
- Check the laptop's charging port for any debris or damage that might be preventing a proper connection.
4. Try Booting Without Peripherals:
- Remove all external devices (USB drives, external mice, keyboards, etc.) and try to power on the laptop again.
5. Reseat the RAM:
- If you're comfortable doing so, open the laptop and reseat the RAM modules. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause power issues.
6. Check for Signs of Life:
- Look for any LED indicators when you try to power it on. If any lights flash or change state, that may help diagnose the issue.
7. Leave It Plugged In:
- Sometimes, the battery may be deeply discharged. Leave the laptop plugged in for at least 30 minutes, then try to power it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
