Thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist you.

The behavior you're describing, where lights blink in certain sequences and the laptop fails to power on, often indicates a hardware issue or an error state in the system. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove the power adapter.
    • If it's possible to remove the battery, do so.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual charge.
    • Reconnect the battery (if you removed it) and the power adapter, and try powering on the laptop.
  2. Check the Battery and Power Adapter:

    • Ensure that the power adapter is functioning properly. You can test it with another compatible HP laptop if available.
    • Try removing the battery and operating the laptop solely on AC power. If it turns on, your battery might be the issue.
  3. Run a BIOS Recovery:

    • Turn off the laptop and try to initiate a BIOS recovery by pressing and holding the Windows + B keys while pressing the power button. Release the power button, but continue holding the Windows + B keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears or the laptop beeps.
  4. Examine LED Error Codes:

    • The blinking lights, especially if they follow a consistent pattern, could indicate specific error codes for hardware components. Refer to the maintenance and service guide for your model to decode these error signals.

Could you please let us know exactly how many times the white and orange lights blink in sequence before the laptop turns off? This information will help us identify whether the issue is related to the battery, BIOS, or system board.

Please write back with these details so that we can assist you further.
