Hi @Rashi10,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop's power button isn't working, there are a few possible workarounds you can try to power it on without using the button, depending on your model and setup:
1. Plug in the Charger (If Battery Is Drained)
Sometimes, just connecting the charger can trigger the laptop to boot automatically, especially if the battery was completely drained.
2. Use an External Keyboard (if USB Keyboard Wake is Enabled)
- Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard.
- Try pressing the "Enter" key or the power key (if available).
- This only works if the "Power on by Keyboard" or "Wake on USB" option is enabled in BIOS, which is often disabled by default.
3. Open Lid
Close the lid (if it's open).
- Plug in the charger.
- Open the lid — some models will power on automatically if this feature is enabled in the BIOS.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
