HP PAVILION DV6-6163CL

My HP PAVILION DV6-6163CL had the Hard Drive stolen along with the Carriage. Purchased a 1TB Hard drive then a Carriage. Upon "power-Up" the Screen says I need a Boot Disc.  The former HDD had Windows 7 Home Premium, still have the Stickers with Product Keys but don't know where the Serial # for the Unit is (Refurbished Laptop). I useda Recovery disc from a PC that had same Windows 7, but says I need driver's.

Is there any Discs I can get to get this Lap Top operating again?

The laptop had windows 7 Premium installed, but came without a disc. I have the KEY # on the Bottom of the L/T. How can I get the Windows 7 Premium back onto the L/T?

Hi:

If you were able to reinstall W7, you can get the drivers you need from the support page at the link below...

Hi:

You can make your own plain W7 installation media.

Click on the Windows ISO Downloader.exe link to download the tool to create the W7 ISO file download.

Select the W7 COEM ISO file download version for the product key the OS is good for, which is the OEM operating system ISO file.

I have zipped up and attached the Microsoft utility below, that will allow you to either put the file on a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.

I downloaded the Windows ISO file and attempted to Copy/Paste to the DVD, but each time it interrupts saying "Can't read from the Source File or disk. Deleted all the downloads and retired at least 12 more times ... Doesn't seem to work. I'm probably doing something wrong.  When I copy to the Thumbdrive, The L/T starts "Screaming" with a lot "Jibberish" scrolling down the screen.

Hi:

You can't just copy and paste the file to a DVD.

You have to use the tool I attached to do it, or you have to use a DVD burning program with a burn ISO file option so the DVD is made bootable.

If you want to use a DVD, I use this free DVD burning software to burn ISO files to a DVD.

When you launch the program a menu will appear.  You want the 'Burn ISO Image' selection (4th one on the list).

Burn the DVD at the slowest possible speed you can, so you get a nice strong burn.

You can also try a different software option like Rufus to create a bootable USB flash drive.
