Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply. Week again and very busy during the day (unfortunately).
The Pending file rename is not related but if you see something there, you can definitely change it so that it is clear.
The Autocheck - well, honestly, I don't remember 100% at the moment but based on logic, it should be set to 0. You can try to experiement with these, as well - it doesn't hurt.
If it still does not work, please let me know and I will send you another pm message

Hi - thanks for the reply. I appreciate the time you are giving to this issue.
I tried changing the value in Autochk - from 0 to 1. After doing that, the error message disappears. However, every time I start there is a little delay after the HP screen, and a black blank screen appears for a second before loading. This has replaced the split second 'skip disk check' message. I can live with it - Ijust hope things are fine on the laptop.
Otherwise everything seems to be working fine.
Thanks

According to many different threads in this forum, tons of these HP Envy m360's purchased over the last year or so have been having severe issues where they freeze up while watching videos, the sound goes out, the fan runs constantly and then the whole unit is frozen.
After many dealings with Geek Squad and a trip back to HP to be repaired while under warranty, the unit still did not work. Finally an in-home member of Geek Squad determined the two sound drivers that came preinstalled in my laptop were fighting and maxing out the system resources at 100%.
Geek Squad wiped my computer a second time and reinstalled a plain version of Windows 10 that had none of the HP bloatware on it. I no longer have Conexant sound drivers fighting with the Bang & Olufsen sound drivers.
This was done a few weeks ago and FINALLY after over a year, this laptop is no longer a $1000 paperweight.
I read that some of these HP units sold at Best Buy had some extra HP stuff on them. I would be interested to find out if everyone having these issues purchased their units at Best Buy or if this problem exists in these laptops purchased at multiple stores.
