Hi @Texas2026,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop is not powering on even after checking the power cord and holding the power button. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Verify the power source
Plug the charger directly into a known working wall outlet.
Avoid power strips or extension cords during testing.

Check the charger and charging light
Connect the charger and look for any charging or power indicator light.
If there is no light, the issue may be with the charger or DC port.

Perform a hard power reset
Disconnect the charger and remove the battery if it is removable.
Hold the power button for 30–40 seconds, then reconnect the charger and try powering on.

Test without the battery (if removable)
Remove the battery and connect only the power adapter.
Press the power button to see if the laptop powers on.

Disconnect all external devices
Remove USB devices, external displays, memory cards, and accessories.
A faulty external device can prevent startup.

Check for signs of life
Press the power button and listen for fan noise or feel for vibration or heat.
Also watch for keyboard backlight or brief indicator lights.

Try a different charger if available
If possible, test with another compatible charger of the correct wattage.
A failed adapter can appear normal but not supply enough power.

Let the laptop sit on charge
Leave the laptop plugged in for 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button.
Deeply discharged batteries may need time before responding.

I hope this helps.
