One day my computer was being slow so I shut it down regularly the next day I tried turning it on and it said preparing to do automatic repair but instead of repairing it just went to blue screen error stating NTFS system error so after doing some Diagnostics it said optimized DST failure. I asked for some help and someone suggested that I unscrew the laptop and see if the solid state drive got disconnected but I was also told that it might void my warranty. The biggest problem with this is that I have a lot of important work on the laptop that is not backed up and I cannot access anything like command prompt and I tried booting from a different from a hard drive but that didn't work this has me depressed and stressed and I don't know what to do please help!

Hi,
Your laptop is this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-x360-m6-Convertible-PC-series/10862129/model/11830353/do...
Manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05098448
It came with 1TB 2.5" 9.5mm SATA HDD. I cannot see any SSD built in your laptop from factory.
You can replace the failed HDD with a new one of similar form factor and use Recovery media to factory reset the operating system.
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961
Contact HP to get free assistance for replacement if you're within 1 year manufacturer's warranty period:
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
Phone assist: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
Test hard drive competely and provide HP support the hard drive failure ID to process your request for replacement:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001
Else page 28-29 in the Manual gives you exact step to be followed for replacement. Some what major disassembly has to be carried out. Better contact local technician if you're not confident enough.
After taking out failed drive, connect it to another PC using SATA to USB adapter , then copy the files:

Hi,
I would like to know the exact model name, product number of your notebook?
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
What do you mean by "and see if the solid state drive got disconnected but..."?
Your laptop came with HDD or SSD?
Usually optimised DST failed means hard drive went bad, you've to replace with a new one of similar form factor.
If you provide me with exact model number, I can help you in giving you Manual instructing how to take out the failed drive, so that you can connect it to another PC through USB connection. Then copy the files you need to that PC.
Also if your laptop is well within the 1 year manufacturer warranty, you don't need to spend money to do so these. HP would send you new hard drive for replacement.
Hope you've created recovery media/USB after setting up lap first time, to factory reset your notebook after replacement.
Regards
Visruth
