I had a problem, HP ENVY 13 F.18 BIOS update results in my laptop doing a hard reboot, every time the computer goes to sleep (either via button, or by OS usage timeouts). Trying to find info how to rollback to a previous BIOS (F.12), but the Insyde BIOS updater refuses to downgrade versions...

SOLVED... Basically, the F.18 BIOS upgrade corrupted my CMOS settings, but not in a way that was detectable by the BIOS. Specifically, going into the BIOS Setup & changing settings didn't resolve the problem. Restoring the F.18 BIOS (stored on a hidden partition on the SSD HD, or via a USB flash drive) did not resolve the problem. Attempting to revert back to the F.12 BIOS (including by trying to restore via a USB flash drive) did not resolve the problem...
The solution is to clear the CMOS using the WindowsKey + V method outlined in https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833 . (All other approaches, including WindowsKey + B failed). You then have to change the settings in the BIOS setup as appropriate--but since there are so few settings, it's a quick endeavor... My laptop is now fully functioning with the F.18 BIOS.

Hi all... I just discovered another problem with this F.18 version of the BIOS. Specifically, a Windows 10 shut down actually results in a reboot. Even a hard shutdown (hold power for 5 seconds) results in the computer rebooting, regardless of whether on battery power or AC. As of now, I have no way to shut down this laptop, except by letting the battery completely die.
Please stay away from the F.18 version of the BIOS.
