@1281vp, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're unable to access your HP laptop due to a forgotten login password. No worries, I’ll guide you through the steps to reset it.

If you're using a Microsoft account to sign in:

Most Windows 10 and 11 laptops use a Microsoft account. Here's how to reset the password:

  1. On the login screen, click “I forgot my password” or “Forgot PIN”.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity (via email, phone, or authenticator app).
  3. Once verified, you can set a new password and log in.

You can also reset it from another device using this link:
Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password - Microsoft Support

If you're using a local account (not linked to Microsoft):

If your account is local (no email address shown on the login screen), try the following:

Option 1: Use a Password Reset Disk (if created earlier)

  1. Insert the reset disk.
  2. Click “Reset password” on the login screen and follow the wizard.

Option 2: Use Safe Mode with Command Prompt (Advanced)

If you don’t have a reset disk, you may need to reset the password using advanced recovery tools. HP has a guide here:
HP PCs - Change or reset the computer password in Windows 11 | HP® Support

Still locked out?

If none of the above work, you may need to perform a System Recovery (this will remove files and apps):

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the Recovery Manager opens.
  3. Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
