Pavilion Power 15 cb062tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some help with my laptop.

I have a HP Pavilion Power 15 cb062tx that I bought in Feb 2018. It's been running absolutely fine, no issues, has been fantastic.

I was using it 2 night's ago, working, watching Netflix and then playing some video games.

Came home last night and went to boot it up but it wouldn't turn on.

Here are the symptoms:

Won't turn on

no lights turn on

charger light doesn't turn on when plugged in

Things I've checked:

tried a different power outlet

tried a different charger

pulled the battery out and tried running with charger but no battery

returned battery

The battery is an internal battery, so taking the battery out is challenging.

I read that if I hold down the power button for 60 seconds it will drain the static and do a hard power reset, and apparently this should work if the internal battery is still plugged in. I'm going to try that again with the battery removed tonight to see if that makes a difference.

When I opened the laptop up, I also did a brief visual inspection, it's immaculately clean inside, no dust, nothing looks damaged.

Does anyone have anything else I can try before I take it to a repair center?

Update:

Did a basic tear down of some of the more relatively easy-to-remove parts, checked for damage then put it back together.

No change. No ozone-like smells either that would indicate a fried circuit.
