My hp pavilion 15 eh1000 started turning off and on again on it's own after almost 3 years..Ran some hardware checks, battery check showed logic state weak and primarybatterydesign is 41m Ah. And the usable remaining battery was around 20m Ah. So I went and got the battery replaced but it still does that. Power button keeps flickering on and off.

Run a battery calibration
if you still have a problem then run diagnostics
Tap the ESC key about once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. Press F2 to run diagnostics.
If there is no battery test in diagnostics then get the latest test firmware
HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package here
https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-pc-hardware-diagnostics
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.
If this does not fix the problem then contact HP

On a laptop, remove cover plate to get access to the memory. |
Discharge static electricity by touching a finger to metal frame or case before removing memory sticks.
Clean the memory contacts with eraser, use air duster, reseat memory. Reseat one at a time if necessary to find the bad one.
Beep codes and reset instructions

Reseating memory is about all that can be done. Electronics that is in a socket is subject to "chip creep". Heating and cooling causes the metal contacts to move very slightly with temperature and occasionally the memory needs to be removed and put back in. If laptops fails from overheating it is usually dead and a replacement motherboard is usually all that can be done.

I have never heard of a problem like that.
If old battery leaked and damaged the motherboard I can understand that.
Was there visible damage to the motherboard such as corrasion?
It is more likely there was a problem with the new battery or its installation. Remove the battery, connect the power cord and try turning it on with the battery missing.

I told all this to the local repair shop person to do as I don't wanna handle such hardware sensitive stuff. He cut it off as untrue and fake saying it wouldn't work. So my sister took it to another person she knows of. I will let him know this next time when I can contact him.(He's an IT teacher and leaves the laptop in his staffroom). He also looked into it and somehow a new problem has arose. He said once he charges and starts using the battery dropped to minimum way too quick and isn't turning on any longer. He says cpu to charging slot has been shot, need to replace the motherboard or buy a new one. We cannot really afford to do all that so please if you can help further. Thank you🙏.
