Power and boot issue

Hello, 

I am having an issue with my HP Pavilion that started a couple days ago. In my attempt to fix the issue it caused another issue. First the main issue.

The Laptop works fantastic, until you plug in the AC adapter. About 2 to 5 minutes after it gets plugged in it just turns off. The power light stays lit but none of the keys function and the screen is off. If it stays in this state with the AC adapter plugged in the the fan will turn on and begin to blow fast. Also while in this state no battery charging occurs. Removing the AC adapter does not change this state. If you hold the power button to force a shut down that is the only thing to remove it from that state. Should you remove the AC adapter and power the unit back on it returns to it's previous state, totally Functional and working as if nothing had happened. If you shut down the laptop properly and then plug in the AC adapter it WILL charge the battery as normal giving it a full charge and not causing any issues. Using the HP Diag tools there is no indication of a battery or AC adapter problem or problems of any kind. No warnings. no messages. No logs. Nothing. 

So, Here is what I have tried and the new(er) issue it now caused. 

First of course I tried a different AC adapter. Result : System does exactly what is described above. 

Second, After consulting some of the forums I tried to see if there was Battery Driver interference. There was no driver I could Identify for the Battery, in addition there were no new installations of any software or updates that I'm aware of that may have created a conflict. 

Thirdly (And this is where i'm stuck), I was going to update the UEFI bios. Doing this requires plugging in the AC adapter. Guess what happened. Yup the system went blank/non-functional during the update. 

Now the new problem

I can't get it do do anything. Pressing the Power Button illuminates the LED but that's it. I tried holding the Windows plus B or V key to force start the Bios and nothing. Holding the power button while doing this for more than three seconds turns the system back off. there are no bleeps, creeps, or sweeps. I have tried removing the battery and discharging the power button and also nothing. 

My next step was to remove the CMOS battery but I can't locate it on the back and i'm hoping its not on the keyboard side. 

So, Any help/direction/solution would be great. As I said up until this Saturday it was working 100%.

I understand that the HP laptop is adapter is connected it will not charge.

Have you performed the battery test on the HP support assistance?

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern: 

Unplug the charger and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%. 

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins. 

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager: 
1) In the search box, type, and open “Device Manager”.  

2) Expand “Batteries”.  

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.  

4) Click on “Uninstall”.  

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver  

6) Shutdown the computer.  

7) Remove the battery for a minute and then put it back in.  

😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.  

9) Go to Device Manager.  

10) Expand Batteries.  

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there. 

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"  

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.  

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
