Hello!
My laptop entered power-on authentication even though I have never set any password for it (or any other bios password). Pressing the f11/f10/esc button to boot to bios settings didn't work (because of the power-on authentication). Eventually, after trying every possible password, I took my laptop to my local service provider and they had to replace the motherboard. Now I can boot to windows normally.
My question is - what can I do now to prevent my laptop from automatically entering the power-on authentication? The service provider said that there is "no fix" to this problem and that it remains "a mystery" - however, having seen other people complaining about the same problem on the support community, I am rather sceptical about that.
