I encountered an issue with multiple HP EliteBook 850 G8 laptops. Enabling the ‘Power on when AC detected’ setting in the BIOS was not working. Plugging in the AC power adapter or USB-C power adapter would not turn the system on.

 

Rolling back to a BIOS version from early 2024 seems to have resolved the problem. I tested this on three HP EliteBook 850 G8 laptops.

 

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Or is there a setting in the newer BIOS versions that needs to be adjusted?
