Problem in booting from ssd.

Hello there, I have recently brought a nvme m.2 ssd ( samsung evo 970 plus ) for my hp laptop ( hp bc-515tx ). I  cloned my os files successfully to the ssd but inside bios ( AMI aptio f.13 ( latest ) ) i im not able to set the boot priority to ssd as inside boot options only my hdd is visible as available boot device ( ssd is not even shown ). Although inside device manager ssd is visible and is working ,So i  removed the hdd from my laptop and then it boots from ssd as it was the only available booting option inside bios. How can i boot from ssd without having to remove my hdd.

Do you still have Windows on the hard drive?

If so, the only suggestion I can offer would be to format the hard drive to remove Windows.

As long as there is an operating system on the 2.5" hard drive, Windows will always boot from that drive first.

Hi Paul, i haven't formatted the whole hdd but have format the ( c: drive ) as i have partitioned my hdd into 3 parts. But no gains , that didn't worked. Is n't formatting the whole disk similar to formatting c: drive ( as it holds the windows file ) ?

Hi:

If you removed Windows, then the PC should have booted from the SSD.

Unfortunately, I don't know why the PC isn't booting from the SSD since Windows is not on the 2.5" drive anymore.

I doubt you have to format the whole drive, but I can't say for sure.  You shouldn't have to.
