The machine will not power on. The LED that is next to the charging connector is flashing. It does this whether or not the charger is connected. If the battery is removed, it will stop.
I have tried starting the machine without the battery in place but with the charger connected - - still no luck.
I have tried to do the hard reset - - hold power button down for 15 sec. without battery or charger connected - - no luck.
Any other ideas ??

Hello @Russell_M
Welcome to the HP Support forum.
With reference to this HP article, could you post how exactly it flashes ? Any pattern ?

This looks like a hardware problem (system board issue or thermal issue).
I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - like HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

Hope this helps.
