Probook 455 G2
Other

I have an HP Probook 455 G2 that cam pre-installed with Ubuntu.  I've replaced the original HDD with a 480GB SSD and have used Gparted to partition the drive approximately 50/50.  After much struggle, I installed Windows 7 on the left partition, then reinstalled Ubuntu on the right.

Now it still boots to Ubuntu bu there is no logical option that I can see to boot to Windows.  I don't use it often but there are some things that Ubuntu just can't do - like the payroll software that I need to use.

Is the BIOS able to dual boot?

Please bear in mind that although I have some skills, I do need simple instructions - at least I have the time to do it at the moment 🙂

Hi

In the BIOS do you have a BOOT MANGER option?

The greyed out OS BOOT MANAGER, drop down and I doubt you have as many as me, but the order can be changed.

Now EasyBCD may be able to add Ubuntu to the Windows Boot manager.

Research the Grub options, quite convoluted.

Thanks LBB,

I'll give it a try and let you know the results.

There's a Boot Manager option in the BIOS so I'll see if I can tinker with it before trying EasyBCD.

🙂
