@topil, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding product information being invalid!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error message "Product Information Not Valid" usually occurs after a motherboard replacement or BIOS corruption. To recover the missing system information (Product Number, Serial Number, etc.) on your HP Notebook 15-af100nc, follow these steps:

Use HP DMI Tools (Preferred)

Download HP DMI Tools

  • These tools are used by HP service centers to reprogram missing product information.

Create a Bootable USB with HP DMI Tools

  • Format a USB drive to FAT32.
  • Copy the DMI tools to the USB.

Boot into DOS Mode

  • Power off your laptop and insert the bootable USB.
  • Turn on the laptop and press F9 to enter the Boot Menu.
  • Select the USB drive.

Run the DMI Tools

  • Use the command: HPBQ138.EXE
  • Enter the missing information:
    • Product Name: HP Notebook - 15-af100nc
    • Product Number: P0G47EA
    • Serial Number: (Check the bottom of your laptop)
    • UUID, Feature Byte, CT Number (If available on the laptop label)

Save and Exit

  • Once you enter all details, restart your laptop.

Using HP BIOS Configuration Utility (If Available)

Enter BIOS

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.

Check for a "System Information Update" option

  • Some HP laptops allow editing this data directly in BIOS.
  • If available, enter the missing information and save changes.

Let me know if you need more help!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
