Hi, so my 4 month old hp laptop 15 just turned off as I was watching a movie whilst connected to the TV through HDMI cable and also charging. I then rushed over to check on it but both screens were just black and then I removed both the HDMI cable and the charger and tried to turn on the PC but it wouldn't boot up. I then tried to connect its charger but the charging light wouldn't turn on to show signs of charging and also the power light on the power button didn't even light up once. How can I fix this?

Hi @MAP_08,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

From what you’ve described, your 4-month-old HP Laptop 15 suddenly shut down while connected to both HDMI and charging, and now it won’t power on or even show charging lights. That suggests the system isn’t receiving power at all.

Here are a few things you can try:

Power reset

Disconnect the charger and any accessories (HDMI, USB devices, etc.).

Hold down the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.

Plug the charger directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips) and try powering on again.

Check the charger and port

Confirm that the charger LED lights up when connected to the laptop.

If you have access to another compatible HP charger, try it, sometimes the adapter or cable fails.

Inspect for signs of life

Look closely for any faint fan noise, keyboard backlight flicker, or charging light. If there’s absolutely nothing, it may point to a hardware issue such as the charging circuit, motherboard, or battery.

I hope this helps.
