I set the password on my laptop when I first got it.  I set the bios password (I was commuting into London at the time, so thought it was a good idea).  Now working from home decided to remove the password (also apply the latest bios) and cannot remember the password (yes I'm an idiot).

The laptop runs fine (boots, can login and use etc), but want to remove the password.  How do I do it?  Will a bios update do it, or do I need to take the battery and RTC battery out?

The laptop is running Linux, but I do have access to another laptop (same model) running windows 10, so I can swap the disks over if needed.

Cheers for any help.
