Hello
it can be a material problem!
You can try several things in order to try to recover your data, I give some explanations here, but in French!
que faire en cas d' erreur / échec dst du disque dur - HP Support Community - 7338574
You can try a bootable cd / dvd type live cd (linux)
https://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-retrieve-windows-files-using-a-linux-live-cd/
you can try removing the hard drive, in order to connect it to another computer internally, or with a usb adapter!

If your disk is not completely out of order, this gives you a small chance

Sorry, but a Linux Live CD is NOT going to work to recover files on your drive. Why? Because Windows 10 enabled Fast Startup by default and with that in place, Linux will NOT be able to mount the NTFS volume. Period. Folks should quit recommending Linux Live disks when Windows 10 has file issues.
If your PC can not boot into Windows, a way around that is to follow the instructions below to create boot media from Macrium Reflect (MR) that can be used to boot your PC even if the hard drive is not working:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR) from this link on a working PC: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
2) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD
That will create MR bootable media. Then, you can boot your PC into WinPE using that media.
Have patience, as that can take a while to start and bring up the screen.
Once the screen is there, read this thread about using PE Explorer -- a simple file explorer: https://forum.macrium.com/PrintTopic15803.aspx
If your disk still works, you might be then able to retrieve some files and folders from it.
Good Luck

I do not understand @WAWood
I have already met a lot of people who have succeeded, and when I say type live cd linux, it is not necessarily a linux cd, there are plenty of backup live cd's.
I have other links, but in French, and I can not give them, because it gives indications of password bypass
And as indicated, if that does not work there is the other option.
