Elitebook Revolve 810 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a refurbished Elitebook Revolve 810 G2 Tablet with a protected bios. The problem is that I recently installed Linux as a secondary OS, which of course also installes GRUB. The problem now is that when I start up my laptop, I get an error that there's no bootable device found, but if I first boot to my USB, and then to the harddrive, it works fine. I've read that this might be because of something called secure boot, which I can't turn off because of the admin password.

When I select Sparekey it says that it isn't enrolled, and disconnecting the cmos battery also didn't work.

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
