Product: HP Pro x2 612 G1 Tablet
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Cannot update BIOS as BIOS password is forgotten. No Spare Key was setup with the Administrator BIOS password. 

 

HP Support called me insisting that our only option was to buy a new motherboard as they could not follow the steps outline in the following resolved problem, as the device is out of warranty - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/How-to-reset-an-unknown-BIOS-password-EliteBo....
