I bought the samsung 970 evo plus ssd for my hp omen 15-5000ne as a replacement for the old ssd which was san disk sata not nvme as the new one, then when i try to install new windows, clean install , because the old sandisk ssd was not working, I succeed but when the windows install restarts the computer to finish the install the bios doesn't recognize the new ssd. I tried my friend's ssd which is a western digital sata one which had a windows 10 working on it, it booted perfectly, but when i put the samsung one back bios still doesn't recognize it, so is there a solution ? my laptop bios is "insydeh2o f.47"
and thanks in advance.

@Aboualam Welcome to HP Community! You may want to ensure the new SSD is tested or supported by HP, you can find this information in the service and maintenance guide for details: click here & check page. 1 - Chapter 1 of Product description.
Once confirmed, disable legacy boot in BIOS (F10 during restart to access), then you should be able to reinstall the windows using the steps mentioned here
To get the device back up and running again.

thank you sir for your time ( @Riddle_Decipher ), confirmed it is compatible and i tried disabling and enabling legacy boot and also secure boot with no luck. I tried also installing Ubuntu instead of windows with no luck. And when i try to press F2 to do a driver check, on hard drive check it gives me smart check and short dst not installed, although i updated the bios 2 days ago

@Aboualam Could be an issue with the connector or the SSD, I suggest you run an extensive test on the device to confirm the same:
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Extensive Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

thank you sir for your time ( @Riddle_Decipher ), my HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI only have memory test and hard drive test. When i choose extensive test on the hard drive i get the same thing, smart check and long dst not installed, while on the memory test it passes.

@Aboualam That's most likely because you've got a hardware malfunction with the SSD, I suggest you check the SSD with another device or contact the local store,
If possible, get in touch with the local tech and have him/her connect a spare SSD to the device and check if it works before investing more on the same.

thank you sir for your time ( @Riddle_Decipher ), I did try my friend’s ssd which is a WD sata one and it had the windows installed on it, it booted fine and the windows worked, but when i put my nvme ssd it couldn’t read it, unfortunately my friend’s laptop can’t read a nvme ssd so I couldn’t test my ssd with his laptop. But my ssd is brand new from samsung, and my laptop only have one port for a hard drive which is a ssd only

@Aboualam If your friends drive works while this one doesn't, you may want to get your drive replaced as it seems to be the cause of the failure.
