Hi @NK221187,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop screen is not turning on and the Caps Lock key is blinking, this usually indicates a hardware-related issue. The blinking Caps Lock key is often used by HP laptops to convey specific diagnostic codes that can help identify the problem. Here’s how you can troubleshoot this issue:

**1. Perform a Hard Reset

Power Off Laptop:

  • Unplug Power: Disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Remove Battery: If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.

Discharge Residual Power:

  • Press Power Button: Hold down the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Reassemble and Power On:

  • Reconnect Battery and Power: Reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug in the AC adapter.
  • Turn On Laptop: Press the power button to see if the laptop starts up correctly.

**3. Check External Connections

External Display Test:

  • Connect to External Monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable.
  • Toggle Display Output: Use the appropriate function key (usually Fn + F4, F5, F7, or F8) to toggle the display output to the external monitor. This can help determine if the issue is with the laptop’s screen or the internal components.

Inspect Ports and Cables:

  • Check Connections: Ensure that all cables and external devices are securely connected and not causing interference.

**4. Check RAM and Other Internal Components

Reseat RAM Modules:

  • Power Off: Shut down the laptop and disconnect it from the power source.
  • Open Laptop: Carefully open the laptop’s case (refer to the manual for instructions).
  • Reseat RAM: Remove and then reinsert the RAM modules to ensure they are properly seated.

Check Other Components:

  • Inspect Other Connections: Ensure that other internal components (e.g., hard drive, Wi-Fi card) are properly connected.

**5. Perform a BIOS Recovery

  1. Try BIOS Recovery:
    • Power Off Laptop: Disconnect the laptop from all power sources.
    • Power On with Recovery Key: Press and hold the Windows key + B key, then press the power button.
    • Release Keys: Release the keys when you see the HP logo. This should initiate BIOS recovery if the laptop supports it.

**6. Inspect for Physical Damage

  1. Check for Visible Issues:
    • Inspect Screen: Look for any visible cracks or damage to the laptop screen.
    • Check Hinges and Cables: Ensure there is no physical damage to the hinges or internal cables connecting the screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
