Select second boot drive

I have following commands executed:

bcdboot F:\Windows

bcdedit /set {default} description "Windows 7"
bcdedit /set {current} description "Windows 10"

bcdedit /displayorder {default} /addlast

Reboot

-> Result:  Dual-boot works, but now the notebook restarts after the selection (WIN7/WIN10). Yesterday  (before changing the SATA-Ports) the notebook continued booting after the selection  WIN7/WIN10.

Yes, I know. It has been changed by MS. Usually you work with the same OS for a while. You can change the "default" in advanced Settings. "Erweiterte Systemeinstellungen" like in the attached picture. Then it will not happen.

I have another problem: When I press the power button to start the Laptop, after a few seconds the WIN logo is displayed. After it disappears, the Laptop shows only a black screen for about one minute and then the login screen is available.
This problem was already there on the "old system" (before I added the second hard drive).

I have this problems since there was a WIN update a few months ago. This update also caused that WiFi and the fingerprint sensor are no longer working since there.

Do you have any idea how I can solve this issues? Where can I get the compatible drivers from?

1. When you go to advanced settings in the above picture you find: "Anzeigedauer der Betriebssystemliste" where you can change the default setting from 30 ==>3 sec.

2. Think about a change from a HDD to an SSD-Disk. A 500 GB disk costs appr. 60 EUR.

3. I personally recommend you to reduce the C-Drive size and create a D-Partition for you data. This is much safer than your system right now. This can be done easily in diskmanagement. (Rightclick on C and select shrink)

4. Install a Backup Software like "Macrium Reflect" on you WIN10 disk. This allows you to backup both systems to a separate external disk.

5. drivers: If you don't find them on the HP-site it's difficult. But in in device-management you can go back to the previous driver. On the driver tab select the device id and google, google, goo...... 😀
