Hi there,
I just bought a Zbook 15v G5 as a work computer to use mostly with two external displays. However, I'm unable to wake from sleep using my external keyboard and mouse. My current setup is:
- Apple USB keyboard (which has a two USB ports hub) pluged in the Zbook
- Microsoft basic mouse pluged in the USB Keyboard hub
- 3Dconnexion CAD spacemouse pluged in the USB Keyboard hub
EDIT : I should have specified that I'm using the laptop in clamshell mode. So I don't have an easy access to the inernal keyboard and trackpad.
My question is very similar to Ysl-One issue, so I'll copy-paste what applies to me:
1. PC won't wake from USB keyboard / mouse (I have to use built in track pad to wake)
3. USB suspended, disabled
4. All USB device manager options have energy saving disabled
6. BIOS has no settings for USB for power management
7. I tried another USB mouse and different ports, still doesn't wake.
8. "Allow computer to turn off device to save power" disabled for all USB devices, hub, bus and whatever.
9. I tried a USB hub and it stays lit/powered even when laptop is put in sleep mode (charging option is enable in BIOS).
10. PowerCFG has both USB keyboard and mouse wake enabled
Additionnaly:
- USB Selective Suspend is disabled
- Turn on fast startup is disabled
- I uninstalled and reinstalled the NVidia P600 driver
- All HP and Windows updates completed.
My understanding is that it's a BIOS setting. However, the 15v (Value?) has the simplified BIOS and does not have the option to Enable/Disable USB ports during sleep. It's crazy to think the ports come disabled by default on a machine that says "Mobile Workstation" on its case.
What should I do?
Thank you!
