OMEN by HP - 15-ce008nq
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I entered bios to change the password to nothing, thinking it would disable the administrator password thing, but now I can't enter bios. I tried power+windows+b, power+windows+v and installing bios on a usb. Nothing is working. Please help me.

Hi @Fady7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you're having trouble accessing the BIOS on your HP OMEN laptop after attempting to remove the BIOS password. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Hard Reset: Sometimes, performing a hard reset can help in situations like this. To do a hard reset, follow these steps:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.
  • Unplug the laptop from the power source.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop.

Clear CMOS: This involves resetting the BIOS settings to their default values. To do this on an HP OMEN laptop, you may need to open the laptop's case and locate the CMOS battery. Disconnect the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it. This should reset the BIOS settings.

Check the User Manual: Refer to the user manual or documentation that came with your laptop. It may contain specific instructions on how to reset the BIOS password or access the BIOS setup.

USB Recovery: If you attempted to update the BIOS using a USB drive and it didn't work, make sure you followed the correct procedure for your laptop model. Refer to the HP website or user manual for detailed instructions on how to create a BIOS recovery USB drive and use it to restore the BIOS.

Use the HP BIOS Configuration Utility: If you have access to another computer, you can try creating a bootable USB drive with the HP BIOS Configuration Utility. This tool allows you to configure BIOS settings without entering the BIOS interface. You can then use it to remove or reset the BIOS password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
