Approximately every 3rd or 4th time I power up my Spectre x360 convertible 15df-0013dx laptop with the power button from a shutdown state, it powers up - including lighting the power button and powering up the USB ports - but the screen remains black and the system doesn't boot, not even the HP logo. If I do a hard reset by holding the power button until it shuts off, then powering back up the same as before, it boots normally. This laptop was purchased only 1-2 months ago and has been exhibiting this behavior close to the entire time.

Sounds like a hardware problem although it could be software. HP will probably require you do a System Recovery (reinstall Windows) before looking at hardware so I would start there. Step by step guide if needed:

If reinstalling Windows doesn't help, contact HP for warranty service. You should have HP Support Assistant installed. Open it and look at top for "Support" to get your contact options. Or you can use the list here:
