I have  hp pavilion 15 cc0xx. Product ID 1KU20UA It was stuck in boot loop after the hp logo, logo comes, disappears, and then the circle of dots keeps  going round and round, forever! We did factory reset. Still have the same problem.  I want to bring up the start up menu to check the hard drive.  The esc key is not bringing it up. Please help!

I find that it can be difficult to interrupt the boot in modern laptops because they boot so quickly.

So when pressing Esc, press it 1-2-3-4-5 (5 times, as fast as you can say that), then wait a couple of seconds, then do that again. If you press the key once, it generally won't work.  If you hold it down, it won't work, either.

Also, try using F10 to see if that works.

Good Luck

Amazing! It worked! Did exactly what you said with the Esc key. I was thinking I damaged the Esc key by pressing it too much until I tried what you suggested.  Thank you so much.  Found out - hard drive short dst check failed
