I bought a HP Envy x360 laptop that comes with a TPM chip. I would like to enabe bitlocker with TPM but first want to set the tpm owner password. I can't do this though becasuse I don't know the current one. I have cleared the TPM from the bios but whenever I go to tpm.msc the 'Prepare the TPM...' option is grayed out and it look like a password has already been set? How do I change this?
Thanks

There is no default password. It appears by default windows now sets it to a random value on boot if it is not initialised, which it doesn't store anywhere.

If you run the following command then reboot and clear the tpm you'll see it isn't initialised and you can then initialise it from windows.
