HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fd0000 (952D1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

recently ordered and picked up a laptop HP 15-fd0101ua (A1VQ0EA) Natural Silver
but when setting up, and now when working with it, we encountered a problem that it reboots or freezes at any time so that you just need to reboot... and so every 15 minutes +/-
maybe you know what the problem could be and how to solve it

Hi @Mari142,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We’re truly sorry to hear that your new HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fd0101ua is freezing or rebooting frequently. That’s not the kind of experience we want you to have, especially with a brand-new device.

Let’s work together to get things running smoothly again.

1. Install HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can scan your system for any hardware issues and driver or firmware updates.

  1. Download & install from:
    👉 HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
  2. Launch the app → Click “My devices” → Select your laptop
  3. Run “Check for Updates and Messages”
  4. Then run “Hardware Diagnostics”

Let it finish, and let us know if any warnings show up.

2. Update BIOS and Drivers

Sometimes, reboot or freeze loops are linked to outdated BIOS or chipset drivers.

3. Check for Overheating or Thermal Protection

If the system overheats, it can auto-shutdown or freeze.
Ensure:

  • Vents are not blocked
  • Surface is flat and firm
  • You're not using it on soft material (like a bed or couch)

4. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Press F2 repeatedly as soon as you power it on to enter diagnostics.
  3. Select System Tests > Extensive Test > Run once

This test will check your memory, storage, and CPU. It may take 30–45 minutes.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
