Hi. I'm now having the same issue. I was trying to plug in the HDMI cable and my laptop starts lagging. Waited for like 15 mins and tried various ways to restart it properly but I had no luck. So I forced to kill it buy holding the power button. I had the HDMI removed before I forced it. And then now it says that "selected boot device failed" 😁

Hi

I'm having the same problem with my HP ENVY M6. Secure boot is disabled and Legacy Boot is enabled but I'm still getting the error that tells me that the partition is not of GPT.......

@Envy_Maypex

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand you are getting the error-"The Partition is not GPT",

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Are you also getting the error message-"Boot device not found"?

Which Operating System are you attempting to install?
Did you know HP doesn't recommend or support the installation of a retail copy of Windows?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:

To troubleshoot issues with boot device failed: Click here

Also, Click here to run a hardware test to identify whether this is either a hardware or a software failure.

Let me know if those steps worked for you,

If they did, that's awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
