Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My power button still on after the laptop was shut down. I have tried methods on power plan, disabled fast turn on, off the hibernation, installed chipset from HP, but the power button still on sometimes.

I think that my driver may be outdated and may have contributed to the issue. Hence, I have downloaded the driver from the HP site for my laptop model. However, the error message is 'this platform is not supported'. How to solve this issue?

What else I can do to solve the power button still on after the laptop was shut down?

Could  be a couple of very different issues.

First, when you shut down a modern laptop, it does not actually turn off; instead, it goes into a hybrid sleep mode -- and that drains the battery. So, you need to go into Control Panel (not Settings), look at the Power Options and change them to actually shut down the laptop when you press the power button.

Second, after you do that, use the power button to turn off the laptop, not the Window settings.  The power button light should then go out.

If it does not, then it sounds like there is a short in the button connections and you would have to take the laptop to a local laptop repair shop and pay someone to check that out -- you may then need to pay to have the power button and/or its connectors replaced.

Many thanks for your suggestions. I will try the second suggestion.
