Pavilion dv7 1424nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Turns on, but appears to immediately go into a sleep mode.  No evidence of the boot going to bios or HD.  Just a little wind and then silence.  Power LED on at connection.  LEDs at numerical keypad and caps lock blinking, that's it.

Ouch, it was the CPU as suspected.  Already bought a replacement.

I don't buy that at all .. "it was the CPU as expected"  .... I am having the same problem and, when the computer decides to wake up on its own (and that can take days), it works just fine.

I'm running 64-bit Windows 10 on an HP Pavilion 500-267c and this strange phenomenon began to happen right after a Windows 10 upgrade.

When the computer is in sleep mode, or is turned off and I try to restart it, it seems to go straight into sleep mode with the power light blinking, and there is nothing I can to do wake it up.

Eventually it decides to wake up and it's as though there was never a problem.

We had a neighborhood power failure last night and the computer went off and I'm stuck again.  Black screen, power light blinking when I try to restart.  Did a hard reset but it was no help.

Someone should be able to guide me on fixing this .. at least I hope so.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
