@MikeStat, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

The message "Manufacturer Programming Mode is in unlock mode" typically appears when the system BIOS is left in a special configuration mode used during factory setup. This mode should be locked before the system is shipped or after a motherboard replacement.

Since you've upgraded your motherboard and installed Windows 11, it's likely that this mode was unintentionally left unlocked. Here's how you can resolve it:

Option 1: Lock Manufacturing Mode via BIOS

  1. Restart your PC and immediately begin pressing the F10 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup.
  2. Navigate to the Advanced or System Configuration tab (varies by model).
  3. Look for an option labeled "Manufacturing Programming Mode", "Factory Mode", or similar.
  4. If found, change the setting from "Unlock" to "Lock".
  5. Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS.

If this option is not visible, proceed to Option 2.

Option 2: Use HP BIOS Configuration Utility (BCU)

  1. Download the HP BIOS Configuration Utility (BCU) from the official HP site.
  2. Install the utility and open a Command Prompt as Administrator.
  3. Run the following command to lock the manufacturing mode: BiosConfigUtility.exe /setvalue:"Manufacturing Programming Mode" "Lock"
  4. Reboot your system.

Note: If you're using a 64-bit OS, you may need to use BiosConfigUtility64.exe instead.

Additional Tips to Speed Up Boot Time
