HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-eh1000 (2H5A7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello guys, few hours ago Windows Updates notified me a BIOS update, the F.20 (03/March/2022). I performed the updated (from F.12 to F.20 version) and everything works fine, the laptop is smooth and not issues.

I just got 2 questions:

1. Checking the product page I see that the latest BIOS updates is F.12 released in December 2011, there is no F.20 version. Maybe Windows Updated let me install a wrong BIOS update?

2. During the boot it freezes for 9/10 secs. Is it a graphic glitch? Is it a Windows or a BIOS issue?

I have the fast boot off.

I'm a bit scared that my PC will stop working anytime lol

Hi,

I invite you to see my post. This BIOS is not made for your computer and fortunately it did nothing catastrophic during the update. I invite you to downgrade and trust the version on the HP support site.

Thanks to HP for fixing this problem for the next BIOS updates on HP Pavilion.

How could I downgrade to the correct bios version (F.12)?

HP knows this problem? Will it fix it in the next BIOS update?

I think it is a shame that they release a wrong BIOS update through windows update

Download the F.12 version that corresponds to your computer from HP website. Close all your apps before starting the update and stay plugged in.

I don't know. I found only two subject on this website about this problem so i guess no.

From now on, I would only update from the website (or I would check that the version of the Windows Update update is also available on the HP site)

So in order to downgrading I just need to download and to install the F.12 version?

Is it safe or there is the risk to damage my laptop?

Yes and it is safe.

Cool thx ❤️

U got the same issues as mine? I mean that short freeze during the boot screen

HP Recommended

Yes me too, I had the freeze but it always ended with a blue screen. My SSD was not recognized by this BIOS.

When u downgraded the Bios version u had to create a recovery UDB driver or just installed and it did all the job?

U got any social media? We could chat if for u is ok
