HP notebook 15-ay196nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I removed my PIN.  Microsoft will not help me find my password that is on the locked up notebook.  Here is the message:  Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device.  Click to set up your PIN again.

I cannot set up PIN again since I have 2 step verification on my MS account and they will not help me.  I cannot reset my MS password because one of the telephones does not get text and MS uses text to verify.

What steps can I take to open this Notebook?  Thank you.

Not sure what you can do about your phone situation - we cannot help with that.

You could try taking the computer to a Microsoft licensed technician.

Fingerprint Sensor / Forced Reset

If the fingerprint sensor suddenly stops working on your computer

OR

If the computer is not issuing errors but still won’t let you log in,

Consider trying a Forced Reset (power reset).

Reminders

A Forced Reset is NOT a “recovery” and does not remove your data – this reset merely forces the computer to load the Operating System from disk.

Forced Reset does not harm a healthy system nor does it “fix” problems not related to a clean start.
