Hi @Asm1026 ,

If your HP ProBook 640 G1 is not powering on and you notice that the LED indicators on the power/wifi/volume buttons flash with an amber-white-amber sequence, it often indicates a hardware issue. Here is a systematic approach to troubleshoot this:

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Disconnect External Devices: Remove all peripheral devices connected to the laptop.
  2. Remove Power Sources: Disconnect the AC power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  3. Perform a Hard Reset: Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
  4. Reconnect Power Sources: Reconnect the AC adapter but leave the battery out.
  5. Attempt to Power On: Press the power button and see if the laptop powers on. Follow below article: https://support.hp.com/th-en/document/ish_3974055-3873564-16

Step 2: Check the Power Adapter and Battery

  • Verify the Power Adapter: Ensure the adapter is functioning correctly. You might try a different compatible adapter if available.
  • Test the Battery: If the battery is removable, check the laptop's behavior without the battery installed. A faulty battery can sometimes prevent the device from powering on.

Step 3: Inspect LED Indicators

  • The amber-white-amber sequence generally suggests an issue related to power delivery or a motherboard problem. Make note of how many times the sequence repeats, as this can assist in pinpointing specific error codes.

Step 4: Memory and Hardware Checks

  • Re-seat Memory Modules: Sometimes the memory modules can get loose. Carefully remove and reinsert them.
  • Disconnect and Reconnect Hardware: If comfortable, you could open the laptop to ensure all internal components are securely connected.

Hope this helps solve your issue
