I understand that you are not able to power on your notebook. When you connect the power cord the light next to the DC jack does not light up. The original adapter was one that HP recalled and has replaced.
Did the replacement AC adapter work when you first acquired it? Are you connecting directly to an electrical outlet and not using a power/surge bar?
