HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j073cl Notebook PC

My hp envy 15 turned off in the middle of loading a game. now it will not turn on even when I plug in the charger. If I remove the battery and put it back the charger light turns white and blinks. While the charger is plugged in. My understanding is that a white blinking light indicates a faulty charger but the charger works on another notebook.i haven't been able to figure out why it won't charger or turn on please help

Hi @Jspurlock50,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 15 turned off in the middle of loading a game and now it won't turn on or charge, there are several things you can try.

  • Check the power source: Make sure the power outlet or power strip you're using is working properly. Try plugging in another device to confirm.
  • Reset the laptop: Sometimes a hard reset can solve the issue. To do this, unplug the power cord and remove the battery (if it's removable). Then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power cord and try turning it on again.
  • Check the charging cable: If the charging cable is damaged or frayed, it may not be able to charge your laptop. Try using a different charging cable to see if that solves the problem.
  • Check the battery: If your battery is completely drained, it may not be able to charge or turn on. Try leaving the laptop plugged in for a few hours to see if the battery charges. If it doesn't, you may need to replace the battery.
  • Check the power adapter: If the power adapter is not providing the correct voltage, it may not be able to charge your laptop. You can check the voltage with a multimeter or try using a different power adapter to see if that solves the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
