I run a dual-boot system (W10/Ubuntu) on startup the default screen gives me a list of choices, however the font is miniscule. How can I change its size?

Thanks

Nothing you do in GRUB or Linux is going to affect the font you see in the BIOS as that is set in firmware.

As to the font on the menu, as I said, that is a GRUB menu, so it has nothing whatsoever to do with Windows.  It IS a dual-boot issue because you installed GRUB and that is the menu you are seeing, not a Windows menu.

I presume by the startup screen, you mean the menu that GRUB puts up, right?

I'm sorry, but HP only warranties their PCs for usage with the OS that comes preinstalled.

IF you replace that with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Modern PCs with UEFI, instead of the older BIOS, are especially difficult to install because you have to go into the UEFI settings and make several changes before you can even boot from a USB stick -- and we are unable to assist in that work.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.

Since you are using Ubuntu, go here: https://ubuntuforums.org/

When you go there, ask about Grub-Customier app as it will allow you to customize the font size in the GRUB menu.

Good Luck

Thanks.

I asked because I seem to recall something similar when I ran (along time ago) dual boot (actually multiple-boot) with various versions of Windows for differing applicarions.

It seemed to me that it the problem that I raised was either: (i)a dual boot issue; (ii) a BIOS issue; or (iii) a GRUB issue.

I assume from your reply that you don't think that either (i) or (ii) could be a potential cause. If you can confirm that then I will go back to dealing with GRUB.
