I do not wish to have the esc key menu showing up on boot. If you need to enter than you know what to enter. My issue is a typical user does not need to see that. I have gone into Msconfg set the time out to 3 sec, bc it states only from 3 to 999 will work. but it doesn't

I have a similar situation -- and it's just an annoyance you have to put up with.  The text eventually disappears and the laptop then boots into Windows.l
