Hello dmk719,

Welcome to the forum!

I would like to know if anything happened while making the updates and also would appreciate if you tell me what kind of updates have you made on your laptop.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS? If not, please try do so by pulling out the CMOS battery. You must do that after you have pulled out the battery and the power cord of the laptop. Open the lid and localize the CMOS battery which lies next to the processor and it looks like a watch battery. If you have another CMOS battery, you can replace it with that. If you don't, leave your current battery aside and wait for some minutes for the electricity to discharge. Then, plug the CMOS battery back in and the power cord. Try to boot your laptop again.

Hope this helps.

Greetings @dmk719

Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a fantastic site to find information, tips, and suggestions.

I understand that your PC is not booting or giving any display after you installed some updates. Don't worry, I will be glad to help.

Firstly recommend you to perform a hard reset, refer http://hp.care/2eVij8M

If that does not help. Do a hard reset again and try BIOS recovery, refer http://hp.care/2blPVKJ

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.

  3. With the computer off, press and hold the Windows logo key  and the B key at the same time.

  4. Still pressing those keys, press and hold down the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows and B keys until the BIOS update screen is displayed or until you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).

Let me know if this helps.

none of the above worked. I opted to return to the place I bought this which has a repair department. It is under warranty so they will repair, sounds like mother board as battery was not an issue. Thanks all.
